Moment of force is also called torque. “Moment,” as used in physics, means the amount of force experienced by an object due to the amount of force applied at a certain angle and through a certain distance. When the term “moment” is used in regard to mechanical force, it is called the “moment of force.” For example, when turning a nut with a wrench, one can measure the “moment of force” exerted on the nut. For more information, see “moment.”
